A Message from the former President
Back in 1988, my
fire
department was experiencing problems with their siren controller. The
original system was a homemade job about 20 years old. Each year it would give
us more problems than it was worth. The fellow that built the system had
recently passed away so there was no one who knew how it worked. Since I had a
background in electronics, a committee of one was appointed to either get the
system fixed or find a new one. After spending countless hours getting nowhere,
I decided that it would be better to just throw the whole thing out and start
from scratch. Except this time, we would modernize and add the features that we
really needed. The result was the Vedette Siren Activation System. The Vedette
is a solid-state siren controller with no moving parts. It has adjustable
cycles, an automatic test feature, and.... well, you can read about it yourself
in the Sirens & Controllers Section. After I developed the Vedette for my
department, I found that many other departments were in the same boat as we
were. So with that, Audiotech was founded with one mission: to provide those
hard-to-find items for fire departments without charging an arm and a leg for
them. Over the years, weve added more products to our shelves. Some we make,
and some are made by other reputable companies. This web site is a compilation
of those elusive products that most firefighters wish they had but werent
sure where to begin to look. It is our pleasure to be able to extend these items
